I wondered about that site, myself cause I thought they had a big SB loss, but I wasn't for sure if it was at the dome or not. I guess even as much as the Saints have improved, whoever is in charge of info at the website could still use some coaching!! image

My Saints are no stranger to laughing stock land! :( Probably neither of our teams were very good back at the time of that game. Nothing like they are now, anyway. We don't have too much longer to wait. Each day closer is a little more exciting & nerve wracking!! lol

Hope you have a happy Thanksgiving, Quid!!

Yeah, I can understand based on the history of that AFC championship game. It was a chance and it could have paid off, so what can ya say, really. If y'all had gotten the first down...totally different reaction.

No, they aren't 5-0 against the Saints in the dome...I just read that they were 5-0 in the games they've played in the dome (Superbowls, etc), but that must not be correct if they've lost a couple of SBowls there. Anyways, here's where I got that from. Some other stats are also included.

I don't remember them playing there back then either, but according to my link, it was a very close game. I do remember that we weren't very good at all 10 years ago, though! lol

LoL, that site is completely off. They got at least 2 losses in there. One of them was one of the biggest blow outs in Super Bowl history. :( I hope the official Pats site has more accurate stats. image

I don't think my Pats were that good back in that last SD game either :( That was during the Pete Carroll era. He's a terrific college coach now, but not that good a pro coach. Was a few more years before the Pats went from AFC laughing stock to dynasty. :)

Yeah, I'm sure there are strategies/ratios that could show it not to be so bad a call, but I'm like you...I'd never have called that play either. At least for sure, not against the Colts. Even had they punted, starting from around the 70 yd line, with 2 minutes left, the Colts are still quite a threat to score.

Umm...what do you mean the Saints only loss of the season?? image The Pats may be 5-0 in the dome all time...and own the series so far. But the winds of change have done blown into the bayou country, my cher. We're ready for ya. C'mon!! imageimageimage

    WHO DAT?? WHO DAT??
WHO DAT say dey gonna beat dem Saints?? image

I think the biggest factor for Belichick was the fact that a few years ago in the AFC championship he punted to Manning with a 3 point lead instead of going for the 4th down and Manning drove down the field and scored the winning touchdown. He didn't want that to happen again so he went for it, and unfortunately the worst case scenario happened again. :(

Wow, 5-0 in the Super Dome against the Saints? Thats quite good. :) I can't remember ever watching the two play down there before. I think its been 10+ years since the last time the Pats played there in the regular season. Good to know they've never lost there in the regular season. They did lose two Super Bowls in there. :(

Whose gonna beat dem Saints? We are! image image Especially with the dancing muffin and broccoli on our side! Brady won't lose 2 dome games in the same season! :)

Thanks!! The past three weeks have made me more nervous than the first 7, for sure! lol I bet you might be a little nervous, too after that call Belichick made against the Colts. wow...just wow. I couldn't believe that call...not against them, anyways. image Looks like they are back on track now, though. I'm def looking forward to next Monday night and the epic game that I think it will be. image

I am so thrilled I will get to actually SEE it!!! image

I was quite shocked when he made the call, especially since it was clearly not planned ahead of time. They would have ran on 3rd down if it was. It hasn't been exclusively bashing of him, particularly around here, there are ratios/strategies people talk about that make it seem okay, but I never would have done something like that. I wish they had let the Colts score right away after that so there'd be some time left on the clock.

Well, gotta put it in the past and look to the future. I'm sure I'll feel a lot better when the Pats give the Saints their only loss of the season this coming Monday. :) Can't wait! Super Dome has so housed so many big games for the Pats, three Super Bowls, including their first championship ever. :)

Yeah, well I really don't see that happening this year. The only other time they were this on fire, the got out in the first round because of the whole Tony Dungy's son thing. We'll just have to see what happens come January, I guess.
